Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CliqView, a service owned and operated by Alpha Tech Services, based in the Republic of Ghana ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our video streaming platform (the "Service"). By using CliqView you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, email, phone number, password, profile photo.
  • Payment / payout data: Mobile Money numbers (MTN MoMo, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money) used for withdrawals, processed by Paystack.
  • Usage data: watch history, likes, comments, follows, watch time, device and browser info, IP address.
  • Content: videos, shorts, thumbnails, messages, and other material you upload.
  • Advertising data: a random identifier stored on your device, the ads shown to you, and whether you watched or clicked them. See section 4.

2. How We Use Information

  • Deliver, personalise and improve the Service.
  • Calculate viewer earnings and pay creators and viewers via Mobile Money.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
  • Send transactional messages and, if you opt in, marketing communications.
  • Comply with legal obligations in Ghana and other jurisdictions we operate in.

3. Sharing

We share information only with:

  • Payment processors (Paystack) to process payouts.
  • Cloud/hosting and streaming providers used to run the Service.
  • Advertising partners, as described in section 4.
  • Law enforcement or regulators where required by law.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws, including in California and other US states, treat the disclosure of identifiers to advertising partners for personalised advertising as a "sale" or "share". Where those laws apply, you can refuse it through the consent form described in section 4, and we will not request personalised advertising for you.

4. Advertising

CliqView is supported by advertising. Premium members see no ads.

Ads we sell ourselves

Businesses buy campaigns directly from CliqView. To choose which of those ads to show you, we use the country on your profile, the category of the video you are watching, and whether you are on a phone or a computer. We do not use your name, email, phone number, or the contents of your messages to select an ad, and we do not use your precise location.

We store a random identifier on your device so the same ad is not repeated at you, and we record which ads were shown, watched, and clicked. Advertisers receive counts and totals for their own campaigns. They do not receive your identity.

Ads served by Google

Where we have no campaign of our own to show, we use Google AdMob. Google and the advertising partners it works with may collect and process your device's advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location, and how you interacted with the ad, in order to serve and measure advertising. Those partners act as independent controllers of that data. Google's own practices are described at business.safety.google/privacy, and its partner list is shown in the consent form described below.

Your choices

  • On iOS, we ask whether CliqView may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. Declining means the ads you see are not personalised. It does not reduce what you earn, and it does not stop you seeing ads. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • In the EEA, the UK and certain US states, we show Google's consent form before any advertising is requested, and we request no ads until you have answered it. You can reopen that form at any time from Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices.
  • On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Advertising and earnings

Watching advertising is part of how you qualify for Cliq coins. We record how many seconds of advertising were watched against a viewing session so we can decide whether a reward is due. When an ad is served by Google, Google confirms directly to us that you watched it, and that confirmation includes an identifier for you and for the viewing session. We use it only to credit the reward.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance.

6. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your account and associated personal data at any time from Settings, or by emailing us. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction data as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax and audit obligations.

8. Children

CliqView is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit and access controls. No service is completely secure; use a strong unique password.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app.
